When Jim Klote first came to present his plan and method for completing a successful capital campaign I was very enthused. I had been involved in a number of campaigns before, but this method and structure seemed like the way to go for us. But after the campaign was drawing to a conclusion I was even more sold. Having been the campaign chair and seeing everything unfold, I could see the tremendous value in the structure and method. Having someone on site full time also kept us on track and motivated so that we could achieve the best results possible.
I don’t think there is any way that we could have come as far as we did without the services of Klote & Associates and our consultant. The organization, structure and method were just what we needed to help our church achieve results it had never seen before.
Having a consultant on site full time is a tremendous benefit. It freed me up as campaign chair to concentrate on messaging and visiting without having to worry about details or keeping track of other volunteers. Reports were regular and useful and our consultant was able to provide whatever information I needed very quickly. It kept the campaign moving forward in a consistent manner and prevented us from getting discouraged.

Carmel Lutheran Church kicked off its ‘Hearts Compelled To Share’ capital campaign in record style. As of January 25th just 73 families of the more than 900 in the church had already committed $3.75 million dollars. That total represents not only the best kickoff to a campaign at CLC, it also represents the best campaign in total even though only 8% of the congregation has pledged so far.
The previous best campaign was just four years ago when CLC collected a total of about $3 million in pledges from over 425 donors.
