I was asked to be a focus group presenter for Christ Church during our recent assessment. I was part of a group of presenters who attended an orientation session led by our consultant. I have been a member of Christ Church (formerly St. Nicholas’ Episcopal Church) since 1975, and I have led two building committees—in 1998, and again in 2005. I am serving on our current building committee, and I was presenter number 2 at our first focus group meeting.
I was very impressed by the planning and organization of our Readiness Assessment. Our consultant did a great job “blending” with our congregation and encouraging our parish leaders in conducting the assessment. The meeting room and facilities, equipment, etc. was adequate and the sessions were well organized. Our presentation was informative and the response was gratifying and very helpful. We stayed on task and completed the session on time. Our consultant was a friendly, effective leader. I commend our vestry for making an excellent choice, and I look forward to the results of the assessment.
