It’s TEMPTING to teasingly say, “..the consultant?…oh, I guess that he was OK…sorta..” But that’s said with a twinkle of affection and SINCERE appreciation for his ministry and expertise so abundantly and freely shared in our midst.
TRUTH be told, the consultant was JUST who/what Advent needed at this intersection. I have said to him MANY times that IF I had been forced to follow my OWN inclinations of “what and how” for a campaign like this that I would have made CLASSIC and catastrophic blunders. His gentle way of pointing out why something may be the WRONG way was just magnificent.
Please hear from me (as I know that you have heard from others about him) how insightful, organized, inspirational and gently forbearing he is in sharing his ministry (yes, MINISTRY) of guiding people of God in achieving their mission goals. I have SO appreciated his willingness to patiently TRAIN visitors and CALM anxieties by accompanying folks on initial visits. People here have greatly appreciated him as a person of faith himself, always present and TRULY participatory at worship.
Finally, allow me to again state how significant was his impact by being on site daily, available at all times for guidance, direction, re-orientation and a reservoir of superior experiences of HOW to “get it done.”
IT MAY SOUND TRITE but it is absolutely TRUE that we really could not have done it without him!
My wife joins me in sending ONLY accolades of praise and heartfelt appreciation and affection for “that fella that weaseled his way into our hearts.” (couldn’t resist..)

Carmel Lutheran Church kicked off its ‘Hearts Compelled To Share’ capital campaign in record style. As of January 25th just 73 families of the more than 900 in the church had already committed $3.75 million dollars. That total represents not only the best kickoff to a campaign at CLC, it also represents the best campaign in total even though only 8% of the congregation has pledged so far.
The previous best campaign was just four years ago when CLC collected a total of about $3 million in pledges from over 425 donors.
