This is a letter to express my satisfaction, gratitude and joy working with your consultant for 4 months this year. He spent time at Transfiguration Lutheran Church (TLC) from January 15 – May 19. During this time I served as one of the Co-Chairs of the Steering Committee so I worked closely with him. I must admit I miss all the reports he prepared as they were so complete and up to date. I think he trained us well, but sometimes I still need his advice.
The consultant made every effort to get well acquainted with our congregation by attending the men’s Bible study, attending worship services every Sunday and Wednesday evenings, meeting with several other small groups, attending staff meetings, eating lunch with us, taking part in the banter that often went on between the staff, and leading us through the campaign. He got to know the members of this church – we almost felt like he was a member here! His last day was a sad day for me and others who had worked closely with him.
I would highly recommend the consultant to another congregation who is looking toward conducting a Capital Campaign. For me and the other leaders at TLC, he came as a stranger and left as a friend.
