We are writing to express our gratitude for the excellent work of the consultant who has been on site with us for the past 15 months as we went through out Readiness Assessment and also the full Capital Campaign phases of our project. As you promised, the consultant worked tirelessly for six and often seven days a week, and the results of her efforts certainly show. The consultant has helped the All Souls congregation bring in direct and pledged gifts exceeding seven times our average annual giving, and our momentum is still going strong!
Not only has the consultant been diligent and hard-working, but her background as an Executive Director has lent additional strength to our operations through her perspective on particular challenges as they have arisen. Her wise counsel has been extremely valuable throughout her time here.
Most importantly, though, the consultant’s ever-present qualities of enthusiasm, cheerfulness, and true passion for the work of the congregation have always been front and center. She integrated herself very quickly into our large and complex community with grace and ease. She listened confidentially to the joys and sorrows of many different congregants and always turned those conversations into opportunities for generosity. She has been a mentor and coach about fundraising best practices to each of us individually, as well as to several other members of staff. Often, the consultant could be found serving hot beverages as part of our homeless hospitality program or making her own personal contributions to specific program-related fundraising efforts – far above and beyond the call of duty!
In short, the consultant is a treasure. We will miss her hugely and we want to make sure you know what a strong resource she represents as part of your team. We wish you both all the best and look forward to staying in touch to share continuing successes!

Carmel Lutheran Church kicked off its ‘Hearts Compelled To Share’ capital campaign in record style. As of January 25th just 73 families of the more than 900 in the church had already committed $3.75 million dollars. That total represents not only the best kickoff to a campaign at CLC, it also represents the best campaign in total even though only 8% of the congregation has pledged so far.
The previous best campaign was just four years ago when CLC collected a total of about $3 million in pledges from over 425 donors.
