We have had many private conversations about how The Cathedral and I have been blessed that the consultant came to us for the Capital Campaign. Jim Klote knows a winner when he sees one, and I know he sent us one of his premier counsellors.
Since many months ago, when the consultant first came on board and moved in the apartment upstairs in the cathedral, he gave every moment of his time and energy to moving us toward success. He was always my muse, my counselor and sometimes my psychologist! Through it all he never lost his sense of humor, his sense of purpose or his sense of the perspective from his extensive experience.
I know it was not just Jim Klote that chose the consultant for us, but also God. He knew we at the cathedral needed to learn the gift of giving in all its manifestations. The consultant has shown us “the cheerful giver” is a happy person.
Our work is not done and I wish the consultant was with us for this final push. However, he has taught us well what we have to do. With the help of John Gillespie, Dean Gail and our hard working Senior Warden, Jane in leadership and our dedicated committee we will carry on his legacy of the work: Call, Visit, Pledge!
God Bless you now and into the future.
Fondly and with my perpetual gratitude,
Campaign Chairman

Carmel Lutheran Church kicked off its ‘Hearts Compelled To Share’ capital campaign in record style. As of January 25th just 73 families of the more than 900 in the church had already committed $3.75 million dollars. That total represents not only the best kickoff to a campaign at CLC, it also represents the best campaign in total even though only 8% of the congregation has pledged so far.
The previous best campaign was just four years ago when CLC collected a total of about $3 million in pledges from over 425 donors.
