Dutilh United Methodist Church began the presentation of our Capital Campaign to the congregation in 2019. We have what I believe to be an impressive financial goal. But more important than the financial piece is the goal to reach out personally to each family attending Dutilh Church. We understood from the beginning that giving levels would vary by each family’s ability to support the campaign.
At the beginning of the campaign I was supportive but felt insecure in my ability to be a “messenger.” However, with the support and direction of our representative from James D Klote & Associates, I have become comfortable in my role visiting members and presenting the information on the Capital Campaign. The process of visiting church members has proven to be extremely rewarding for me. I have grown in my knowledge of the Dutilh family and moved beyond the small group of friends in my comfort zone. It has been a joy to get to know the wide range of people in our congregation.
The consultant has a thorough knowledge of Dutilh’s Capital Plan and has been more than proficient in training me and the other presenters. He has also been not only instrumental but indispensable in assisting the church in monitoring our progress, suggesting alternative methods of reaching church members and supporting us as we go on our visits. He has become an integral part of Dutilh during his time with us and is recognized on sight by many of our regular attendees.
It has been a pleasure working with the consultant. His presence at church services will be missed. We will also miss his helpful feedback, gentle and encouraging support and smiling face. He was a blessing to us and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
