Columbia Baptist Church Begins Generation to Generation Capital Campaign at Consecration Worship Service

Fairfax, VA On Sunday March 10, 2013 members of Columbia Baptist Church gathered at the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on the George Mason University campus full congregation worship service to consecrate their $23.2 million Generation to Generation Capital Campaign. 1,400 gathered to reflect on Columbia’s history, celebrate the Columbia family, and anticipate what God has in store as the congregation moves forward with the Capital Campaign. The worship service was led by Senior Pastor, Dr. Jim Baucom and Pastor for Worship, Music, and Arts, Rev. Jim Watson.

Columbia has planned for a new three level Worship Center and would replace a portion of the current building located at 103 West Columbia Street in Falls Church, VA. Features of the new building will include: a 1,000 seat Worship Center; a two-story atrium/foyer; visitor Welcome Center with an indoor and outdoor café; and several new education classrooms for age’s children through adults.

Columbia Baptist has commenced on an extensive capital campaign to gain pledged financial support for the project from the congregation. The church has engaged the services of James D. Klote & Associates, Inc. of Falls Church, Virginia to assist with the capital campaign.
