Scottsdale, AZ – With a vision to establish a church in Scottsdale, Shepherd began worship services in 1978 and was officially organized in 1980. A property was purchased that you could drive to on a gravel road where their first building was constructed in 1982. From this “desert” property grew a thriving congregation at an intersection that now sees over 50,000 cars a day drive by.
With a thriving, best in class preschool and a vision and ministry poised to grow and expand post covid, vision is in place to update and expand the facilities to continue to thrive.
After a six-week Readiness Assessment, the Board of Directors approved moving ahead in faith with the Generation to Generation capital campaign.
Senior Pastor, Scott Seidler stated that “The Christian church in America is at a critical point and it’s easy to lose hope with everything going on in the world. Our Shepherd family is bucking that pessimism and optimistically trusting God to continue great things through our ministry in the decades to come. This building initiative is a key building block of that hopeful future.”
James D. Klote & Associates Senior Campaign Director remarked that “Shepherd of the Desert is strategically poised to continue their outreach and expand their ministry. With a vision to seize this moment and be proactive to plan for the present and the future, the enthusiasm among the congregation is exciting to be a part of.”
