Over Three Times Annual Giving Raised Prior to Campaign Kick-Off Brunch

Folsom, CA – Over 175 members of Trinity Episcopal Church Folsom gathered in its Parish Hall for a Kick-Off Brunch to celebrate the culmination of the Advance Phase of its Capital Campaign, “For God and Neighbor…Trinity’s Tomorrow Starts Today!”  A standing ovation from the crowd greeted the announcement that $2,227,329, more than three times annual pledging, has been raised from only 20% of membership during the Advance Phase.

The Rector of Trinity Folsom, The Rev. Todd Bruce, reminded those in attendance of a lesson from Adult Sunday School last month: “Mordecai tells Esther this is your chance; God has put you in this place just for this. Esther must decide whether to act. Now, this is our time to act. We must decide to follow through, or not.”

A full follow-through will result in historic rehabilitation of Trinity Folsom’s 158-year old Carpenter Gothic Church, other buildings and grounds. Bound by regulations in its historic district, no square footage will be added during renovations to increase pew seating from 110 to 180; move the choir and organ to the main floor; increase accessibility with ramps, wheelchair seating and rest rooms; and install new HVAC, sound and lighting systems. The Parish Hall, Church Office and Thrift Shop will receive substantial updates. A current rental house will become a new Children’s House with a safe, fenced-in courtyard.

The Steering Committee, Advance Phase Co-Chair, Charlie Biegel, shared with fellow members, “This campaign will allow Trinity to welcome more people into our inclusive family of God…this campaign will provide more opportunities for us to grow our ministries, outreach, and mission.”
