Cortland, NY – Beginning with a highly successful Feasibility Study, Grace and Holy Spirit Church has been working on a Capital Campaign effort to make improvements to their church building, as well as to strengthen future ministry. A little over 2 months later, the Campaign is coming to a close, and the results could not have been more pleasantly surprising to all those in the church community. The church has already received over $900,000 in pledges, with many members yet to pledge. This is and 5 times annual giving and far more than most thought was achievable.
The Rev. Peter Williams stated, “Many of us are really in wonderment over this result! It really seems possible that we might actually hit the one million dollar mark before we are finished. We still have to visit many more member households! Who would think a little church like ours could reach such heights in giving?”
The building plans following the campaign’s completion include refurbishing the steeple tower, constructing a new entryway which will be fully accessible to people with disabilities, modernizing basement meeting areas, and strengthening the financial resources of the church to make for a stronger future.
The campaign was conducted by James D. Klote & Associates (JDK&A), which was recently ranked the #1 church consulting firm in the United States by Volkart, a market research firm in Minnesota. “The leaders of Grace and Holy Spirit fully embraced our full-time and resident approach to capital stewardship efforts. They worked hard to achieve this great success”, stated Jim Klote, President & CEO of JDK&A
