Church Leaders Vote Unanimously To Proceed With Capital Campaign

Onalaska, WI – One Hundred Forty-Seven years ago, First Lutheran Church was established in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Their history of service and outreach to the community is rich with many programs and volunteers.

 Beginning August 31, 2017, a series of ten focus group meetings was held to inform and educate the Parishioners regarding needs and opportunities to promote the vision and mission of First Lutheran. The meetings were both informative for the parishioners as well as for the church leadership with much discussion regarding priorities of the deferred maintenance items, a Capital and Cash Flow Reserve Fund, burning of the mortgage, and increased funding of the Foundation.

On September 17, 2017, at the conclusion of the Focus Group Meetings, Pastor Jason Stanton announced that the Visioning and Leadership Team voted unanimously to proceed with the Capital Campaign.

Each of the individuals and families within the church will be contacted for a personal visit. The church is optimistically hoping to begin some of the deferred maintenance items next spring, as well as paying off their debts, and providing increased funding for their Foundation at the end of the Capital Campaign.
