Church Membership Votes to Embark on Capital Campaign

Cedar Park, Texas – James D. Klote & Associates (JDK&A) is proud to announce that on May 20, 2018, at the conclusion of the Focus Group Meetings, Board President Sanjiv Sarwate, along with Rev. Joanna F. Crawford, announced that the Membership had voted nearly unanimously to immediately move forward with the $1 million Capital Campaign at Live Oak UUC.  JDK&A, a full-time, on-site fundraising firm was hired by Live Oak to conduct the Feasibility Study and Capital Campaign.

Sanjiv further remarked, “I am excited to begin this campaign for the future of Live Oak. We have big ambitions and this campaign will help us realize them.” Twenty-six years ago, Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church was established in Cedar Park, Texas. Their history of service and outreach to the community is rich with many programs and volunteers.

Beginning April 29th, 2018, a series of nine focus group meeting were held to inform and educate the church membership regarding needs and opportunities to promote the vision and mission of Live Oak. The meetings were both informative for the church membership as well as for the church leadership, with much discussion about replacing the aged HVAC system, the installation of an elevator, deferred maintenance items, a Capital Reserve Fund, expansion of Fellowship Hall area, and possible increased funding of the Endowment.

Each of the individuals and unique families within the church will be contacted for a personal visit. The church is optimistically planning to begin replacement of some of the AC units and maintenance items immediately, as well as preparing an RFP for the elevator, and providing increased funding for their Endowment at the end of the Capital Campaign.
