$5 Million Mark Surpassed at Kick-off for Trinity Lutheran Church

Bloomington, IL – The Triune God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit was worshipped today by Trinity Lutheran Church of Bloomington, Illinois at the Double Tree Hotel and Conference Center.  The event drew about 200 worshippers and marked the kickoff of a 3-year financial campaign to gather to grow and be sent to serve in the newly proposed worship center on Hamilton Road in the growing west end community of Bloomington to position the congregation to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ for years to come.   The campaign co-chairs, along with the entire steering committee were delighted to announce that $5,122,760 had been raised to date for their building project.

Themed “Immeasurably More”, the capital campaign recognizes Almighty God’s power as expressed in Ephesians 3:20-21…. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

The event, led by Trinity pastors Billy Newell and David McBurney, included hilarious awards by rewarding many members who wore funny hats to exaggerate how they live and worship.

Senior Pastor Billy Newell said, “the campaign is going very well, we just have a lot more work to do?”

The worshippers joined together with loud and passionate voices to sing to the Lord.  A hallmark of Trinity congregation with the bell ringers.

Prior to the program, the people of God feasted together, enjoyed live musician and with a slide show of days gone by, renewing friendships with those from various services, and encouraging one another in faith and service to God.  The campaign will run through 2021 with the hope of personally visiting every household in the congregation.
