I want to thank you for the guidance your firm has provided to our church during our recent capital campaign. We have been blessed by this process financially and in ways that can best be described as intangible.
Financially, we have raised enough money to manage our debt for the next five years and put us on the path to paying down our principle. Only God knows id we will be able to realize our vision of eliminating our debt in this time, but we are certainly on the right path. The intangible aspect of our campaign is helping us gain a better understanding of who we are as a church family. The home visits we conducted were absolutely a blessing. We were able to share our vision with our families and they were able to have their questions answered. Some shared their concerns, while most spoke of their vision for KIUMC!
On the flip side, we found out a lot about ourselves through the reactions, or lack of reaction, from those who decided not to participate in the home visits. It was a larger group than we would have hoped, so we are now seeking to understand what it is about our congregation that makes us resistant to such a campaign. Our pastoral staff and those entrusted with the care of our church family will be discussing how we can take our observations and use them to nurture our church back to health.
We are truly thankful for this opportunity. Our campaign director did a wonderful job in every sense of the word. He was truly committed to the success of our campaign. Even more, he truly became a part of our family during his time with us. Thank you again for your guidance.
