Jim Klote and the consultant orchestrated a successful, energetic campaign that was completely in sync with the River Road congregation’s aspirations, while stretching our imaginations and generosity. As a development professional at a major university, I’m well aware of the tremendous amount of energy and good old fashioned legwork involved in successfully executing a combined operating and capital campaign. As River Road’s day-to-day campaign leader, the consultant’s enthusiasm and leadership were infectious. Perhaps most importantly, he worked tirelessly to handle many of the intensive training and administrative tasks that volunteers such as myself, would have had great difficulty handling in part-time volunteer capacities. The consultant was the glue that enabled all the volunteers to work seamlessly around a strong vision; he worked tirelessly in the background assisting us every step along the way, from training volunteers on how to make visits and how to gain completed pledges to issuing thorough, weekly status reports.
