Lisle, IL – Fifty-nine years ago, Trinity Lutheran Church’s first site was built in the heart of Lisle. Their history and legacy is rich with many programs and outreach in the community and beyond.
Senior Pastor Mark Schulz said, “I am so excited the Governing Board voted overwhelmingly to embark upon their largest-ever major Financial Campaign in the history of the church.”
Church Governing Board President Kevin Schroeder said that, “the Board enthusiastically and unanimously voted to recommend to the congregation that they affirm the sentiments of the Board & the Leadership Team to take the next step and proceed with a financial campaign to continue the conversation.”
This decision came after thirty-five Focus Group Meetings where everyone was encouraged to attend. A full presentation was given including a brief history of Trinity Lutheran, a list of current ministries, service opportunities and other interests. A second presenter listed the needs and opportunities along with the vision of leadership to address these concerns. Estimated investments were given to complete the presentation. Then folks were given time to ask questions and to make comments, and filled out a brief questionnaire, which were recorded and compiled in a final report. Many people said how much they enjoyed getting together and they learned a lot about TLC and the different ministries. The members were glad to be updated on the status of the various sites and state of the financials. They were asked, “What opportunities do you see for Trinity Lutheran Church?”
Each of the individuals and families within the church will be contacted for a personal visit. The church is hoping as a result of the campaign to be able to eliminate their mortgage debt, renovate, and to increase their evangelism and outreach. The Rev Mark Schulz, Senior Pastor is fully engaged and optimistic about the wonderful possibilities. He became the Pastor in 2001.
Trinity has asked James D. Klote & Associates (JDK&A) to assist and guide their efforts. “Trinity Lutheran is a vital part of the community.
