Bluffton, SC – The findings of a six-week Feasibility Study, that included 30 Focus Groups, validated to the Vestry that now is the time to proceed with a Capital Campaign.
In a unanimous vote, the Vestry approved the Klote recommendation to proceed with a Capital Campaign under the direction of a Steering Committee. The Campaign will begin immediately with a goal of raising $10 Million.
Father Chuck Owens told his congregation, “Our plan, our over-arching strategy for the future is: To be the Body of Christ on multiple campuses committed to transforming lives in His power and for His glory.” The church’s all-encompassing vision for the future as Father Owens explains is, “To be a community of Christ-imitators in which people are respected, loved and called to God-honoring excellence as they serve the Lord and others in His name.”
This historic church was built on the “Bluff” of the May River in July of 1854. Father Chuck Owens, a true visionary, realized that growth would be limited at the historic church so land was purchased in a growing area of the community in 1998. It was not until 2005 that Cross Schools Campus was dedicated. Attendance at the 5 weekend worship services (both campuses) now average 1800+. Facilities are maxed out with no room for future growth.
The campaign will be directed by James D. Klote & Associates, Inc.
