Texas Church Raises Over Half of Their Goal at Kick-Off Event!

Cedar Park, TX – Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church located in the heart of Cedar Park, Texas, kicked off it’s “Our Church – Our Time” Capital Stewardship Campaign with a morning “Piece of the Pie (& Ice Cream)” celebration filled with food, speakers and warm fellowship. Rev. Joanna Fontaine Crawford and Campaign Co-Chairs Alice Sessions and Sanjiv Sarwate, shared Live Oak’s vision for the future to over 100 members and regular attendees. Pastor Jo Kretzler gave an inspirational keynote address encouraging the church to live an inclusive, love filled life, while Rev. Joanna noted: “The process of this capital campaign is giving us the opportunity to reimagine our very identity. We are learning that we can trust ourselves to dream achievable goals, and we can trust each other to make those dreams a reality. Our consultant, John Morrison, has been coach and facilitator, and is helping us not just with the pragmatic details of a capital campaign, but also making sure that we are taking the time to honor the spiritual and sacred nature of this work.”

Campaign Co-Chair, Alice Sessions, stressed campaign pledging is very strong to date having raised over $550,000 from about 30 advance gift donors but will still take equal sacrifice from all members to reach and surpass our goal of $1 million. She has complete faith that our congregation will achieve our goal. The campaign is being fast tracked and is to run for approximately three more weeks hoping to contact and visit each of the 138 Live Oak Church households.
