Brighton, MI – Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church and School has completed their five week Readiness Assessment. The report was presented to the Board of Directors by Glenn Wagner, James D. Klote and Associates Campaign Director. Following the review and discussion, the Board voted unanimously to move directly into the “Drop the Nets” Capital Campaign.
Following the enthusiastic vote, board president Bob Green explained that “This campaign will support improved facilities for education and fellowship activities and opportunities within our Congregation and community.”
For forty three years, Shepherd of the Lakes has been ministering to the Brighton area. It was in 1973, when a handful of folks began meeting in a basement. Now, the church averages over 700 at weekend services with both the church and school in an exciting time of growth and outreach.
Pastor Mark Milatz stated “We are thrilled to be embarking on this Capital Campaign journey with the assistance of J.D. Klote and our campaign director, Glenn Wagner. I’m most excited about the home visits that we are going to make with all of our members. I envision very personal discussions about our ministry goals and not just a disconnected plea for money.”
