Risen Savior Lutheran Church Celebrates Campaign Kick-Off Event

Chandler, AZ – More than 200 people attended the “Our Next Step…in Engaging All Generations” Capital Stewardship Campaign Kick-Off Luncheon and congregational meeting on Sunday, July 8. The Campaign Steering Committee revealed that they had raised $2,709,800 with 73 pledges. In the words of Senior Pastor Ron Burcham, “I have been personally touched by the support and generosity of the people with whom I have visited.”

The goal of the campaign is to contact all members and attendees for personal visits to provide the detailed building plans, answer their questions and request their financial participation. Pastor Hal Teuscher stated that, “This is another historic step forward in faith by the congregation of Risen Savior Lutheran Church.” At the end of the campaign, the congregation will meet again for a campaign celebration, update and a second vote to authorize commencement of construction to begin early in 2019, which will be completed in 2020.

The new building will feature a 725-seat Worship Center, multi-purpose building with a large youth and children’s area and a state-of-the-art kitchen. There will be an outside patio with a front yard area that will support community activities such as the Novemberfest, the school’s Fall Festival, the Church Picnic and more for community outreach. Pastor Jim Pflueger said, “It is obvious to me that God has made clear the vision which we are following.”

Prior projects have included; the addition of ground-floor classrooms in 2003, the construction of second-floor classrooms and meeting rooms in 2007, the purchase of the bank building in 2013 (now The Pathway Center Church Administrative Office of Risen Savior), concurrent with the purchase of the adjoining vacant lot in 2017.
