Algonquin, IL—Light of Christ Lutheran Church is pleased to announce that through the work of the Holy Spirit and the faithfulness of its members, the Capital Campaign fundraising goal of $3.6 million has been met and exceeded. Commitments totaling $3,676,147 have been made by over 215 member households. The funds will be used to construct a new Church/Ministry Center at the corner of Sleepy Hollow Road and Longmeadow Parkway. With a potential groundbreaking in 2018, the new facility will increase space by ~44%. Light of Christ is indebted to Doug Clark from James D. Klote and Associates who directed this campaign. The congregation plans to continue to worship at its current facility at 100 Hanson Road until the new facility is ready for occupancy.
The LOC church council unanimously approved moving ahead with the construction project at their August meeting. A New Building Team will be formed very soon, which will interact on construction drawings with the architectural firm of Skiffington Architects, Ltd., and also support the on-site construction.
