Houston, TX – Holy Spirit Episcopal Church celebrated the Kick-Off of their Capital Campaign with pledges totaling more than $1.5 million. The Capital Stewardship Campaign is for renovation of the nave, renovations in the educational wing and building of a West Wing which will incorporate a music room, new ladies’ lounge and bridal parlor.
Rector Josh Condon declared, “The Kick-Off Event at Holy Spirit was a wonderful evening when the saints of our parish came together to celebrate what God is doing in our church home. This is a very important moment in the midst of answering the call that we listened for together two years ago in our listening campaign. By coming together to share in the joy of caring for our church members and also preparing for and empowering church growth, we are sharing in the faith of our community.”
The hall was decorated beautifully with candles and flower arrangements at each table. A jazz trio played hits from the decades and attenders enjoyed delicious morsels and beverages.
Campaign Chair David Robinson stated, “The $1.5 million that we have raised for the Launch is already more than the total we raised in our last Capital Campaign. We are excited about the possibilities!”
“The energy and excitement that was generated by such a significant launch total was overwhelming,” Campaign Director Doug Clark declared. “There was an audible gasp when the number was presented.”
