Falls Church, VA – On Sunday May 19, 2013 members of Columbia Baptist Church gathered for an indoor Church wide picnic to formally ‘kick-off’ their Generation to Generation Capital Campaign and to provide the congregation its first campaign report. Over the prior months the Capital Campaign Steering Committee was organized, the Campaign structure and timeline were formed, a campaign theme and prayer were developed, and select families were identified for initial campaign visitation.
Columbia has planned for a new three level Worship Center with an estimated cost of $23.2 million. The goal is to personally visit all 1,200 families within the Columbia family to gain pledged financial support from the congregation for the project. The church has engaged the services of James D. Klote & Associates of Falls Church, VA to assist with the capital campaign.
After the event, David Grove, Campaign Director, commented, This is an exciting time in the life of Columbia! In announcing that the Church has already surpassed any prior capital campaign at the ‘kick-off’ is a testament of the generosity of Columbians and the work of the Lord.
