Midland, TX – The findings of a Feasibility Study, that included 14 Focus Groups, validated to the Vestry that now is the time to proceed with a Capital Campaign. The Vestry unanimously approved the recommendations of James D Klote & Associates (JDK&A) to proceed with a Capital Campaign under the direction of a Steering Committee. The Campaign will begin immediately with a goal of raising $13 Million.
Senior Warden, Katrina Cumbest, commented, “We at Christ Church Anglican are excited at the prospect of expanding our facilities in order to grow the church and better fulfill our mission to know, worship, serve, and share Christ and His Kingdom. Father Henry Pendergrass also stated, “While my focus as your rector must always be on our people and our programs, I cannot ignore the fact that our buildings matter. Good tools, the right tools, can make a huge difference for our people and programs. The building plan before us is not just for ourselves, it will be a legacy to all those who will become members in the future.”
Christ Church Anglican was established in May 2005. For the first two years, Midland Classical Academy allowed Christ Church Anglican to hold weekly worship services at their school. In September of 2006 the church purchased 16.7 acres of land and began construction of a 22,000 square foot facility that was dedicated and consecrated for Divine use on July 16, 2007. Midland Texas is reaping the benefits of oil and gas exploration in the Permian Basin. The city’s population is rapidly increasing, and future job growth is predicted at 48.25% with the national average projected at 33.51%. To meet both current and future needs, the congregation is committing to Phase 1 of their Master Plan that calls for an expansion of the current kitchen, a repurposing of current space for administrative offices and adult education classrooms, larger restrooms, new space for nursery, children and youth ministries and a new traditional Anglican Chapel.
The campaign will be directed by JDK&A, a full-time, on-site capital stewardship consulting firm based in Falls Church, Virginia, recently ranked the #1 church consulting firm in the United States by Volkart, a market research firm in Minnesota. Greg Holt is the Campaign Director assigned to Christ Church Anglican.
