St Catharines, Ontario – Central Community Church in St. Catharines is one of the fastest growing churches in all of Canada. They’re running out of space and need to expand their facilities in order to keep up with those who are joining the church every week.
The church recently completed a Readiness Assessment with James D. Klote & Associates to determine the congregation’s commitment to build a brand new facility on a recently acquired 20 acre parcel in nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake. Almost 450 church members turned out for one of 25 focus groups to hear about the plans and provide their feedback.
The results were unanimous. Members were excited about the plans and ready to move forward with a major capital campaign to secure the funding to complete the project. With already almost 1,800 worshippers a week, the church is planning a new worship facility that will eventually seat over 2,500 making it the biggest auditorium space in the entire Niagara region. The facility will also include much needed space for Central Community’s active kids and youth ministry as well as space for engaging the community in various after-school and weekend programs.
Lead Pastor Bill Markham is excited about moving forward – The focus groups were a very positive step in the process to make sure that the entire congregation was behind this. We received some excellent feedback on the project and I’m excited about moving forward with the campaign.
