By way of introduction, my name is James Cowan and I’m one of the volunteers on the Bethany School Capital Campaign Committee. I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much I have enjoyed working with — and learning from —- your consultant.
My son is now in the seventh grade and he has attended Bethany since kindergarten, so I’ve been a part of the Bethany community for seven years. It’s a special place and we’re committed to ensuring that it flourishes well into the future.
The consultant has shown that same kind of commitment. He has helped us to game plan and put the plan in motion while maintaining a good sense of humor and providing good counsel, encouragement and some very practical tips of the (fund-raising) trade. He and David Gould have also served as the calm voices of reason whenever we inexperienced fund-raisers begin to ask about unlikely “what if…” scenarios. In a nutshell, the consultant has helped to not only provide us with the tools for a successful campaign, but he’s also helped to equip us with the right mind set and the confidence to spread the good word about the ministry and the mission.
The best thing I can say about the consultant is that he has become, in my opinion, an integral part of our Bethany family in a relatively short period of time. The second best thing I can say about him is that many of us are going to miss his friendly spirit and voice of reason when he leaves. 🙂 (Thank God we’ll still have Mr. Gould and an enthusiastic new Director of Development to keep the ball rolling in those areas!
