On behalf of the entire campaign committee, I want to express my appreciation for the leadership and professional expertise we received from the consultant and James D. Klote and Associates. This campaign was a challenging one and we had our share of frustrations along the way. However, your consultant was always there to provide encouragement, guidance and answers to our questions (and gentle nudges when needed!) I think the majority of us were very intimidated about doing visits but overall, found it to be an interesting and rewarding experience. Although we did not reach our goal (yet), we were able to raise enough to get this project underway in a timely manner and I think the whole process was a much needed wake-up call to the congregation in many ways. We are still getting folks who were initially very resistant now expressing interest in pledging. The fact that we were able to raise what we did inside of three months had a huge impact.
Honestly, I was somewhat opposed to going with Klote after the initial presentation to the vestry in early summer (basically because of the cost and that we had already had feasibility done by another firm). However, a week or so into the process, I totally understood the difference in the approach and was completely on board. We would never have achieved what we did without the on-site expertise and highly structured training provided by the Klote team. The fact that the spiritual component is very much a part of a Klote campaign is extremely important.
We look forward to the revitalization of our parish as we begin the process of making it more welcoming, accessible and secure and appreciate the excellent financial foundation we’ve developed with the expertise from Klote and Associates.
