Arlington, VA – Rock Spring United Church of Christ of Arlington, Virginia celebrates its $2.6 million “Rejoice, Renew, Reimagine” Capital Campaign with $2,680,000 in pledges to date! Proceeds of the campaign are being used to restore, preserve, and update the overall campus to make it more usable and friendly to visitors, friends, and members. The congregation also plans to use $250,000 of the funds for a mission component that will create a collaborative partnership between the congregation and an outside organization.
“We did it!” exclaimed Rev. Kathy Dwyer, as she went on to thank the volunteers and donors that made the campaign possible.
Michael Bell, Rock Spring’s Council President, said of the campaign process, “…volunteers reached out to every household in the congregation. There was great value in that exercise. Whether or not a financial commitment resulted, valuable feedback came in, both on campus renewal and on our congregational life more broadly. And many personal connections were cultivated. All valuable for our life together!”
The congregation is now moving on to planning the construction management and finalizing the details of the building project.
