Great Campaign Kick-Off Event for St. John

Bakersfield, CA – This was a very momentous day with more than 600 in attendance for the Beyond Our Horizon Capital Campaign Kick-off at St. John’s Lutheran Church & School in Bakersfield, California. James D. Klote & Associates Campaign Director and Consultant, Carl Graber, stated, “This Kick-off was one of the very best in all my years of fundraising with James D. Klote & Associates, Inc. There was a teaser of campaign information via video, insightful comments from the pastors and the exciting reveal of the currently raised total by the Campaign Leadership Team.” St. John’s results demonstrated great leadership and very generous church and school families with $4,019,175.76 pledged from only 120 families. This effort places St. John’s at 43% of their goal of $9.3 M.

Campaign Co-Chair Dan Shanyfelt, commented, “There is so much positive buzz regarding this campaign among the school parents.” This effort has been a wonderful challenge and a great blessing for everyone involved. St. John’s has been a church of vision, gifted leadership, faithful followers and God’s blessings, which have continued with this capital campaign. Bob Schneider, Co-Chair said, “What a joy it is to see God’s people respond to His overwhelming grace and faithfulness.”

Visitors have shared tremendous personal stories of faith as encountered on their visits with other families. In the words of Pastor Dennis Hilken, “Absolutely overwhelmed with God’s grace! Our kick-off led to joy in what has already been achieved and anticipation of what was yet to come.” The Kick-off was concluded with a challenge to all members for personal visits and very tasty catered luncheon.
